connection – at TIFF Bell Lightbox (350 King St. W).

In
commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian
Revolution, the Hungarian Consulate is hosting the Freedom
First - Hungary 1956 Film Festival. This is part of
a number of events being held across Canada this year to mark this
important occasion. The festival has a great selection of
documentaries and narrative films that tell the stories of the
revolution and the heroes that came out of that time.
Featuring
a number of special guests, including the internationally acclaimed
pianist János Balázs, and award-winning
Canadian-Hungarian producer Robert Lantos who will be receiving the
Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, one of Hungary’s
most prestigious honours.
Toronto
Consul General Stefánia Szabó is the driving force behind this
great event. She is also an advocate for Hungarian culture in Canada.

commémoration du 60e anniversaire de la Révolution Hongroise, le
consulat Hongrois accueille le Festival
du Film Freedom First - Hungary 1956.
Cela fait partie d'un certain nombre d'événements qui se tiennent à
travers le Canada cette année pour souligner cette importante
occasion. Le festival a une grande sélection de documentaires et de
films narratifs qui racontent les histoires de la révolution et les
héros qui sont sortis de cette époque.
La conseillère générale de Toronto, Stefánia Szabó est la force motrice de ce grand événement. Elle défend également la culture Hongroise au Canada.

1956: the U.S.S.R. suppresses Hungary's uprising and appoints János
Kádár as prime minister. He passes a special order: every security
officer must undergo a strict and rigorous test of their loyalty.
Jung
András, undercover as a private tutor teaching German, meets agents
and informants in his safe-house apartment to gather information and
forwarding it to Markó, his immediate superior and legendary war
hero to his fellow security officers. He has been ordered to test
Jung's loyalty.
This
complex espionage thriller has many surprising plot twists that will
cause the viewer to ponder whose loyalty is actually being tested.

János Kádár au poste de Premier Ministre. Il passe une commande
spéciale: chaque agent de sécurité doit subir un test strict et
rigoureux de sa loyauté.
Jung András, clandestin comme un tuteur privé enseignant l'Allemand, rencontre des agents et des informateurs dans sa maison sécuritaire pour ramasser de l'information et de le transmettre a Markó, son supérieur immédiat et un héros légendaire de la guerre à ses camarades de sécurité.
